From 15th–17th July 2025, Arkivum hosted ArkFest – a virtual conference on digital archiving and preservation. Over the three days, the event explored a range of key topics designed for professionals. The HSRAA was delighted that members of our committee and community were invited to speak:
- Bob Thompson led the session “So You’ve Hired an Archivist, What Next?” which explored the practical steps organisations can take to support and integrate their new archivist, build a strategy, and turn archival work into real organisational value.
- Sarah Hitching spoke on the topic “Quality Checks in GxP Archiving: The Hidden Steps You Can’t Afford to Miss”. This session examined the critical but often overlooked role of quality checks in GxP archiving.
- Jamie Toth took part in the panel discussion “ICH E6 R3: Key Records Management Changes and Their Impact”, which explored the key changes in ICH E6 R3 from a records management perspective and examined the potential future impact on the TMF Reference Model.
- Ashley Avery presented on “Cross-Functional Collaboration in Archiving Strategy”, highlighting how Clinical Operations, IT, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Legal must align to create a robust, sustainable, and compliant archiving strategy.
All of the sessions from ArkFest are available to watch until the end of August 2025. Register here to watch: https://events.zoom.us/ev/AmLwazPhpiXZMec1E4IXfoYWe_BfFZWwpCejfHCSJwaiaTUgWFZB~AhAkraZnjGMwj1Pygvfp2heB1WhTj-xutAFoACEhCrCQMTlQzl9w8_2-jg
