The Health Sciences Records and Archives Association runs the following training courses

GLP and GCP Archivists Training Courses (in conjunction with Qualogy)

  • The one day training courses cover the role of the archivist and the operation of the archive. These are suitable for archivists who have recently joined the profession or wish to refresh their knowledge of good archiving practice.
  • These courses typically take place twice a year, normally in February/March and October/November.
  • There are specific courses for GLP archiving and for GCP archiving.
  • Numbers are limited to a maximum of 10 per session in order to ensure that all delegates have the opportunity to participate and interact with trainers.

Management of Electronic Records Training Course

  • This one day training course covers the legislation, electronic formats and storage media, tools to manage electronic documents, solutions for handling emails and information about electronic signatures.
  • The number of delegates is kept low (typically about 10) to ensure all have the opportunity to engage and contribute to the workshop discussions.

TMF Essentials

  • This is a one day training course that is suitable for anyone with responsibility for establishing or maintaining Trial Master Files (TMFs).

GxP Inspection Readiness

  • This is a new one day training course.
  • This interactive and informative course is designed to provide insight and information to help individuals prepare for a regulatory (GxP) inspection from a Records Management perspective.
  • The course covers the regulations involved, how to prepare for an inspection, how to identify, manage and limit risk, the possible outcomes and how to respond to findings and how to avoid the pitfalls.

ISO 15489 Records Management

  • This new one day comprehensive training course looks at documents collected from the main GxPs.
  • This interactive workshop introduces attendees to the core principles of records management as defined in ISO 15489.
  • The course focusses on the practical application of those principles to evaluate and improve record management systems, policies and practices to better ensure compliance with legal and GxP regulatory requirements.
